Special Exhibit:

"The Fabric of A Community: From Your Closet to Ours"
Open May - September 2008

The Manlius Historical Society is pleased to announce the opening of “The
Fabric of a Community: From Your Closet to Ours,” an exhibition
featuring articles of clothing from both the Society’s collections and the
closets of Central New York community members.

Open to the public on May 3, visitors are invited to the museum at 101
Scoville Avenue to view both special occasion attire and everyday
clothing. Highlights include a wedding gown and bridesmaid dress from
the 1940s, a flapper style velvet dress from the 1920s, and a clothesline
with the socks and underclothes of our historic neighbors.

Children and the young-at-heart can take a trip through time by exploring
the Time Traveller’s Dress Up Chest full of unique articles of clothing
from days of old, including fur muffs and an assortment of hats and attire
for both boys and girls.
